NY Dance Project - Twas The Night Before Christmas

Support The ARTS and support LOCAL like never before! We invite you to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year where the MAGIC of Santa promises to enchant and delight! New York Dance Project will perform works from their repertoire in addition to performing their collaboration of Twas the Night Before Christmas narrated Ballet with local dancers from the RCDT. On the night of Christmas Eve, a family is settling down to sleep when the father is disturbed by noises on the lawn outside. Looking out the window, he sees Saint Nicholas in a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer and so the magic and story unfolds. The role of Papa will be performed by Davis ROBERTSON, Artistic Director of the New York Dance Project, a repetiteur for The Gerald Arpino Foundation, and the former Artistic Director of the Joffrey Ballet School and Joffrey Concert Group and former principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet. Dancers from the New York Dance Project fulfill the roles of mama, snowflakes, sugar plum fairy, life sized dolls, and even Santa himself. Local students from the reality competitive dance team ranging from ages 7-18 round out the cast as mice, children, reindeer and dream fairies.

The Christmas experience begins before the show with Santas work shop! Bring the kiddos to take photos with Santa and shop local artists, crafters and vendors. The lobby will be open to all the general public an hour prior to shows for a great one of a kind shopping experience to find unique hand made gifts.
