Leadlights: Sounds of New York
Celebrating a return to Metropolitan and the return to in-person performance, Leadlights presents works of established NYC composers Angélica Negrón, Caroline Shaw, and Colin Jacobsen, alongside premieres of 2 minute Miniatures by professionals and students alike, submitted in response to Leadlights composition call for music inspired by moments of joy and struggle in 2020. Some composers will be in attendance to speak briefly about their pieces.

Metropolitan's COVID safety protocols:
Proof of Full Vaccination against COVID-19 will be required of ALL patrons and staff.
Masks fully covering nose and mouth must be worn at all times in the building.

LEADLIGHTS  is: Julie Lawrence - Violin, Evelyn Petcher Brandes - Violin, Arthur Dibble - Viola, and Alina Lee - Cello.

Based in the Washington Heights neighborhood of NYC, Leadlights Ensemble brings joy and vitality to communities through high quality musical programming in all kinds of spaces, from the concert hall to the sidewalk. Most recently, Leadlights curated a series called Play On! Washington Heights, featuring monthly interactive concerts on the sidewalk outside Word-Up Community Bookshop from April through October 2021. Other recent performance highlights include pop-up concerts in Fort Tryon and Bennett Parks, a livestream in partnership with the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood for their "Y at Home" series, a vaccination site performance for NYC Health and Hospitals, and a performance at Lincoln Center sponsored by Crescendo North America.
