Two short documentaries and two short films from NW Pacific Filmmakers. Filmmakers will be in attendance.


1. Valor & Sacrifice

Directed by Emilio Miguel Torres

Synopsis:

Amidst an island-wide labor strike in 1930's Puerto Rico, a passionate politician must make the decision between solidifying his legacy as the first elected governor of the territory or staying true to his morals and cause.


2. Sol

Synopsis:

Sol is a story set in a world ravaged by climate change. A mother races to teach her daughter the emergency preparedness that comes with each disaster after experiencing a tragic loss.


3. A Valley Divided

Synopsis:

Over half of those living in Yakima, Washington are Latino. Their elected representatives are still overwhelmingly white. A voting rights lawsuit reveals the entrenchment of decades of political discrimination and follows the efforts of Latino community organizers and farm workers who hold onto hope for change. Through verité scenes amongst the apple orchards and archival footage from local city council meetings, A Valley Divided portrays the two sides of a small agricultural town. The divided community holds up a mirror to the larger story of a changing United States.

4. An Intimate Look COVID-19

As the world deals with the coronavirus pandemic, "AN INTIMATE LOOK COVID-19" is a documentary highlighting the beauty and resiliency of the human spirit. Giving an insight to what the world is facing as a whole through personal stories with the hope of bringing "us" closer together.


* Seattle Latino Film Festival will strictly follow federal, state and local Covid-19 protocols. Hand sanitizers and masks will be provided on site. Attendees regardless of vaccine status should plan on wearing masks for the movie theater screenings where social distance is not possible.

*Parking available on the street or at the Walgreens's parking crossing the Rainier Ave.
