Azure Concerts Pittsburgh for Families Living with Autism
The first Azure concert will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021, 2-3 PM, at the Pittsburgh Shrine Center's covered outdoor pavilion. The program is "All That Jazz," featuring Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Eric DeFade and his jazz quartet. There will be 45 minutes of music followed by a 15 minute instrument petting zoo.
Azure Concerts for Families Living with Autism and Related Challenges Pittsburgh brings the highest quality professional performances to a sensory friendly concert space where ALL BEHAVIORS ARE WELCOME. Since many with autism (or related challenges) cannot attend traditional music performances due to uncontrollable vocalizations or physical movements, Azure concerts aim to create a fun and engaging musical environment whereby such behaviors are not frowned upon, but are accepted, embraced and celebrated.
We'd like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors, Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Band Together Pittsburgh, and to the Little Lesson House from 'N Stuff Music for the instrument petting zoo. Without them, this event wouldn't be possible.
