Broken Shovels SECOND ANNUAL Charity Auction Event!

Its our critical SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER, and we have had so many truly incredible prizes donated. This is our fancy event, and those who know us well know we arent black tie sort of folksalthough the occasion is esteemed, this is a casual shindig. So wear your ball gowns if youd like, but dont forget your bootswe will be hanging out with goats!

Experience a magical afternoon that includes a self-guided sanctuary tour with the sweetest rescued farm animals, drinks, and some of the best vegan food from The Easy Vegan and Solstice Sweets.

Who are we?

We are a group of animal rescuers who have committed the past decade to farm, companion and wild animals at our sanctuary. In years prior, we funded 70% of our budget through our own work, putting on events and giving our community meaningful opportunities to connect with animals, accessible to many, located just 15 minutes from downtown Denver.

With many successful years behind us, the pandemic changed everything, and the aftermath of inflation and shortages have made things even more dire. Like many, we are still struggling to recover.

With over 500 animals calling the sanctuary their forever home, we can not fail. But, we must be able to continue to feed them, provide their vet care and maintain a clean and warm environment through our toughest season of the year. Winter is upon us, and its never easy.

But weve been offered up to $50k of matched donations, which lets our community provide food the animals for just a few dollars, and a generous donor will double every bale of hay and bag of feed you donate. And this silent auction event at the sanctuary will conclude this matching offer, and allows us to share the magic and beauty contained here with all of you.

When we all get to the other side of all of this, we will still be here, rescuing, advocating and creating a community around our good work. Because although we are down, and then down again, we have not lost.
