Shoulder Season: Stories of Freezing Up, Melting Down, and Getting Caught in the Middle
Our March 2020 storytellers were days away from their Big Moment before the closure cascade shut down the Performing Arts Center. Six months later, it's their time to shine! This time, we'll be at the stunning Alaska Native Heritage Center for our first ever drive-in event.

Show Date Wednesday September 30th
Entrance opens at 6pm, show starts at 7pm

Rates:$25 - vehicle of two people
$40 - vehicle of more than two people
More than 6 -- please bring some cash to make a good faith donation to Seeds of Change/Anchorage Community Mental Health Services at the show.

What to know:

- Cars cannot be idled during the show -- we live in far too beautiful a place to generate smog. We are Alaskans: bring a parka and a sleeping bag and bundle up! Audio will be available over FM radio.

- We will have warm food stands serving up meals from participants in the Refugee & Immigrant Services Center and Grow North Farms -- as well as a stand featuring fresh produce and herbs provided by our nonprofit partner, Alaska Seeds of Change. Cash only and wear a mask when outside of your vehicle.

- Crush will be serving a selection of adult beverages for purchase. Because this is a car-based event, drivers may not drink. There are all kinds of laws about this with regards to open containers, keys in the ignition, intent to drive, etc ... just don't do it. Instead, Crush has generously offered to provide drivers with a complimentary mocktail. Anyone imbibing must follow all legal (and social) requirements.

- Use caution when walking in between vehicles and entering/exiting the venue. Once you park, please stay parked! If you have to leave in an emergency there will be means to do so. Otherwise, cars stay in place for the show. Arctic Entries is not responsible nor liable for damage to vehicle, person, or property.

- Tickets are sold as general admission, but not all parking spots are created equal. Some have better visibility than others, and placement will be first come-first pick. Please don't drive your most jacked-up pick-up truck.

- No pets. Children are welcome at the discretion of the caregiver. As always, some of our stories may have mature themes and the occasional use of profanity, which you may have to explain to your children during or after.

- Parking will start at 6pm for purchasing food and drinks before the show. You MUST show proof of this ticket purchase (on your phone or hardcopy) to the volunteer at the entrance.

- Restrooms will be available inside the Center. Masks required, and there are limits to how many people may be inside at a time. More information night-of.

- This is a first-time thing for us! We are putting this together on donated hours and equipment, so please take any hiccups with a laugh and some patience.

As always, our storytelling shows double as a fundraiser for the community. Because our spring shows were canceled, we were unable to make our target donation to Alaska Seeds of Change, a vocational program for at-risk youth through Anchorage Community Mental Health Services. COVID-19 SAFETY.  We're committed to following all public health requirements.  Even so, the show will only be as safe as you make it, so we're counting on all of you to step up and bring your best COVID-prevention game! You know the drill by now--wear your masks, don't carpool with people outside your bubble, give other groups space, sanitize those hands. The show is subject to the municipal limits on gathering size, so as of right now, everyone will need to enjoy the show from inside their cars for the event to be legal, with exceptions for bathrooms, food truck excursions, etc.  We're still waiting to hear if we can allow tailgating.  We'll follow up with more detailed information closer to the event, but in the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions. Please understand that despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee that the show will be entirely free of COVID-19 infection risk. We will be recording the stories and broadcasting them later for those who prefer to listen from the safety of their homes.
