Overview:
How can we be more intentional in listening to the stories of young children and their families who have recently immigrated into the US? How can we increase our capacity for cultural and linguistical responsiveness to connect and collaborate more deeply?
This 75 minute workshop, is rooted in culturally responsive strategies that will support you as you collaborate with families to promote equity in programs with dual/multi-language learners. You will also learn about an evidence-based system to support the learning and development of dual/multi-language learners in collaboration with their families from birth to age 5. These strategies can be applied by administrators, coaches, teachers, and home visitors in their day to day interactions with families in person or through remote (online) support.
Why I Should Attend:
There are multiple ways to support dual and multi-lingual learners. Whatever your role is, this workshop will expose us with the various tools, interactions, and strategies to create a warm, positive climate that encourages and affirms children identity.
