The Courage Brothers are an Americana rock band from Boston who recorded and performed extensively from 1990 1995. The quintet, led by singer-songwriter Todd Thibaud and creative partner/guitarist Jim Wooster released two CDs on indie label Eastern Front Records: "Something Strong" in 1992 and "Wood" in 1995. The first CD received extensive airplay on Boston's WBOS and the second, released nationally, received significant airplay on AAA stations mostly in the western United States. Influences / similar groups include The Wallflowers, Counting Crows and Toad the Wet Sprocket.
The 1995 edition of the band consisted of Thibaud on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Jim Wooster on electric guitar and vocals, Dave Limina on keyboards, Larry Finn on drums and Mike Rivard on bass. To support Wood the band toured the western USA for a month in March/April beginning with an acoustic show at South By Southwest followed by shows in Salt Lake City, Seattle, Santa Rosa, Hollywood, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Taos, Steamboat Springs and Aspen. Since 1995 Todd Thibaud (www.toddthibaud.com) has continued to record and perform both as a solo performer and with his own band. Mike Rivard leads the richly diverse Club D'Elf (www.clubdelf.com) a groove collective that draws from a startlingly wide spectrum of styles, including jazz, hip hop, electronica, prog-rock and dub and features a rotating cast of stellar players. Dave Limina is a scholar in the field of Hammond organ playing and teaches at Berklee while filling the keyboard chair in blues guitarist Ronnie Earl's band (www.ronnieearl.com). Larry Finn (www.larryfinn.com) teaches drums at Berklee and has performed with Paula Cole, Susan Tedeschi, Peter Wolf, the Jon Finn Group and many others. Jim Wooster has recorded and performed with several groups including Shecky, Radial Bliss, The Jennifer Tefft Band and the Blood Mountain Brothers.
