This training is designed for volunteers who will be facilitating a Speak Up School.
There are 3 short training sessions, each offered twice over 2 weeks to accommodate busy schedules. You do not have to attend the days in order. Please sign up (get a free Will Call ticket) for one of each of the offerings. Each Day is offered twice. All trainings are 6:00pm - 8:00pm Pacific Time.
Day 1 - Overview (hosting options, how to prepare) & Why redistricting is important.
Offered Tuesday 12/8/20 and Monday 12/14/20
Day 2 - How To on Writing Testimony & Choosing what to say about Redistricting( Data Lenses)
Offered Wednesday 12/9/20 and Tuesday 12/15/20
Day 3 - How To on Testifying & How to Facilitate practice session / Final Q&A
Offered Friday 12/11/20 and Thursday 12/17/20

A Speak Up School is a power-packed training session to inspire effective testimony to the 2021 Washington State Redistricting Commission. These workshops will encourage a wide range of people to testify and will share tools to help participants find their own voice and build effective, personal testimony.
Who should attend? Anyone passionate about redistricting, civic engagement and the electoral process is welcome to attend. We invite members of local League of Women Voters as well as other volunteers to other community organizations to join this training.
Our goal is to help you put on the best Speak Up School you can. We want all volunteers to feel knowledgeable and fired up to help others.
