Route 11 Dance Festival -Trey McIntyre Project
The mission of Trey McIntyre Project is to nurture, support and produce the vision of artist Trey McIntyre and engage individuals and communities in the experience of art.

Each year, Trey McIntyre Project tours to more than 30 cities in the U.S. and abroad to perform for thousands of people. TMP is committed to engaging audiences and communities, and believes in the power of art and dance to transform, heal, and enlighten. TMP innovates the ballet genre by infusing its classical inheritance with freshness, vitality and depth; and in his work, McIntyre explores not only Americana but the whole of the human condition, taking on themes such as religion, superstition, family and love.

"If you had to pick a dance company to represent the United States, the Trey McIntyre Project would be an excellent choice. This troupe, based in Boise, Idaho, exudes earnest American openness, despite its dazzling, ballet-rooted technique. And Mr. McIntyre is a highly gifted choreographer, with broad appeal."
The New York Times

No babes in arms. All patrons, regardless of age, are required to have a ticket.

Program:

BAD WINTER

"...Bad Winter, which premiered last February, was intriguing and at times unnerving. It opened with a punchy, defiant solo for Chanel DeSilva set to "Pennies From Heaven." She wore a bare-bones tank top and shorts, with a white tailcoat that suggested she might be a master of ceremonies. Then the lights came up on a remarkably intimate duet for Lauren Edson and Travis Walker, who moved with wariness and exposed nervesgrappling, pushing one another awayto two songs by The Cinematic Orchestra. He literally gave her the shirt off his backshe ducked her head under it from behind, and suddenly she was wearing itbut they ended in a forlorn standoff, the shirt crumpled and tossed over his prone body as she loomed over him." - Dance Magazine

MERCURY HALF-LIFE

"Rock concert? More than 1,400 people did the stomp-stomp-clap of Queen's iconic sports anthem "We Will Rock You" on the Morrison Center floor, while the dance company dazzled on stage. The extended curtain call was a literal scream fest." - Idaho Statesman
