Shenandoah Run - Folk Music with a Kick!

What: Westwood Country Club is proud to present Shenandoah Run, a nine-member classic and contemporary folk group from the Washington, DC area who has performed together for over two years. Founder Bob Melissinos hand-picked each of the artists who comprise the band. Their individual musicality, vocal and instrumental talent, as well as a strong desire to keep folk music alive and fresh is key to the group's success. Shenandoah Run blends vintage and contemporary folk music in a manner that appeals to all listeners.

When: Drinks at 6:30pm, Dinner at 7pm, Show at 8pm. Friday Nov 1, 2013.

Dress: Collared shirts, no jeans.

The band presents the songs and sounds of American folk music, with an occasional infusion of songs from other lands and from the worlds of country and bluegrass. From the esoteric to the toe-tappingly familiar, their songs are treated to a lush six-part vocal harmony and skillful instrumental backing that defines what is becoming their instantly recognizable sound. Their arrangements are fresh, varied, and unique, while keeping with the spirit of the folk-music sound and delivered with a chemistry that delights both audiences and the performers.

Shenandoah Run has recently released its first full-length CD entitled "Winter To Spring". It is a compilation of classic and new folk songs, including an original song written by one of the group members. The CD has been met with great interest and sales are doing well. Every Shenandoah Run performance to date has either been a sell-out or played to a capacity audience.
