Sara Milonovich and Greg Anderson

Sara Milonovich is a rarity in the music world... a successful singer, fiddler, composer, and bandleader in her own right, while at the same time a sought-after accompanist for a number of other artists in many musical genres. She has performed throughout the US and Europe in the Americana roots, folk-rock, bluegrass, Celtic, and Appalachian music scenes, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with artists such as Richard Shindell, The McKrells, Pete Seeger, Cathie Ryan, Eliza Gilkyson, Quickstep, Anne Hills, and Antje Duvekot.

Her latest cd, Daisycutter, which was a Grammy semifinalist, features her own compositions along with fresh readings of songs by a variety of contemporary writers. The album includes a host of musical friends: newgrass mandolinist Mike Marshall, Nashville bassist Viktor Krauss, renowned Austin musician and producer Lloyd Maines, Irish guitarist John Doyle, jazz reedman Matt Darriau of The Klezmatics, and Springsteen banjoist Gregory Liszt.

Sara will be performing at the Playhouse in a duo with multi-instrumentalist Greg Anderson, who regularly performs with Eileen Ivers, The Klezmatics, and Doctor Nerve.
