Lean construction is coming to the public sector.
Join us as we hear from design and construction experts on how Lean construction can be a competitive advantage for owners and designers.

Lean construction is a way to design systems to minimize waste of materials, time, and effort in order to generate the maximum possible amount of value.

Used for decades in private manufacturing and more recently in private construction, Lean construction and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) are being pioneered in the public sector by UCSF with its upcoming hospital tower design.

Our panelists will answer your questions on Lean construction, IPD, and how to use them to be competitive in today's market place.

Panelists
Geoffrey Nelson is the Director of Project Development for the Boldt Company and leads preconstruction, business development and marketing. Prior to Boldt, Geoffrey was the Director of Enterprise Development at Sutter Healths California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). Geoffrey is active in DBIA and is the Chapter Co-Chair and Programs Chair for the Sacramento Chapter.

Dan Goodman is a Project Manager with UCSF, working on the New Hospital at Parnassus Heights. Before UCSF, Dan worked as a mechanical and plumbing contractor. Dan has been active in LCI since 2009, and has been on the core team for the NorCal CoP since 2015.

Moderator, Jay Love is a Senior Principal at Degenkolb Engineers, with more than 40 years of experience. Jay was recently the structural engineer for the IPD delivered Sutter Health CPMC Hospital at Van Ness and Geary.
