Many individuals within faith-based communities experience emotional pain. Sometimes, people come already wounded. Some individuals may even experience thoughts of suicide; invisible to see. This presentation will help you identify the warning signs of suicide, as well as address simple methods of communicating to hurting individuals - and how to de-escalate heated situations.
Although the presentation will cater to church pastors, clergy and staff for crisis management of potential critical situations in church communities, ANYONE who experiences frequent demands for their support & services are welcome to attend and learn.
Crisis situations or critical incidents can occur within the church community that require a plan of action to handle such situations. Caring deeply can consequently pay an emotional toll for our faithful service. Steps toward self-care and resiliency will be emphasized along with a review of community resources. Lastly, attendees will be encouraged to share their concerns with a panel of experts in the suicide prevention field.
