Bob Log III is an American slide guitar one-man band based in Tucson, AZ. During performances, he plays old Silvertone archtop guitars, wears a full body human cannonball suit and a helmet wired to a telephone receiver, allowing him to devote his hands and feet to guitar and drums. His show has been described as a blues punk guitar dance party.
After six years of making music with Delta blues duo Doo Rag, Bob began a solo career, warming up for the likes of R. L. Burnside, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Ween, and Franz Ferdinand. He released three albums from 1998-2003 on Fat Possum Records, increasing his emphasis on guitar showmanship, fingerpicking, and one-man-band style rhythms.
During performances Bob Log will often call audience members (both male and female) on stage to sit on his knee while he plays. On a number of occasions, Bob has set sail atop his audience in an inflatable dingy or played portions of his set from the women's washroom. One of Bob Log III's more controversial antics is 'Boob Scotch', that is, scotch which has been stirred by a breast.
Log tours internationally, performing about 150 shows each year through North America, Europe, Japan and Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Iceland. His latest albums are "Guitar Power Party" and "Bump or Meow Vol. 1".
" It is loud and strange and electrifying, and how ecstatic it all sounds, that guitar glazed with a kind of sublime and honey-dipped happiness." The Guardian, 2011
"So when you see a man in a jumpsuit and full-face helmet rigged up with a telephone receiver come barreling down the honky-tonk stairs in a lifeboat while beating away on a hollow-body guitar, dont get out of the way. Jump right in there with him. And as long as you live, youll never forget what he taught you." Taipei Times, December 2015
