An Indigenous Peoples History: Book Study

This four-week study is conversation-based. Together we will consider a history which is different than what most US people were taught in schoolelementary thru college. In Ortiz's conclusion to the book, she notes, The late Native historian Jack Forbes always stressed that while living persons are not responsible for what their ancestors did, they are responsible for the society their live in, which is a product of that past. Having this thought in the background, we will discuss this book with a look toward: US nation building, US business and economic growth, US militarism; and the resulting spiritual, emotional, and economic impact on Native and non-native people.

This conversation is supported by JustLiving Farm, Center for Indigenous Ministries, Yakama Christian Mission, and Wilbur Memorial UMC. A small (non-tax deductible) donation is asked for the book study. Money raised will go to the work of the Center for Indigenous Ministries. However, a donation is not necessary to join to the book study.
