CANCELED (COVID) The Heart Collectors Concert Night - 2021 Tour!
CANCELED ONCE AGAIN FOR COVID CONCERNS. We hope to see these marvelous musicians at Fiddler's Dream, once it is safe to get together again.
Imagine Fleetwood Mac with more of an organic, Celtic-inflected lilt of vocals and melody, and you have a rough idea of why The Heart Collectors are so instantly appealing. Add the sentimentality of 70s inspired Americana Folk harmonies, combined with a progressive lyrical wisdom to invite positive change, and you can see why they are taking the international folk music scene by storm
Since releasing their debut album Sangrael, and being taken under the wing of prominent Australian Music Producer, Jordan Power (301 Studios Australia Xavier Rudd, Lady Gaga, Angus and Julia Stone, Kasey Chambers, Powderfinger), The Heart Collectors have gone from strength to strength, making waves internationally recording four studio albums and completing two world tours. The Raison Detre of The Heart Collectors is to be a difference. This driving force of the band has led them to ignite and create an annual not-for-profit environmentally conscious festival in their village, OHeart Festival, as well as continually support a number of local charities in their region.
The Heart Collectors trajectory within the international music scene began in early 2017, representing Australia at South By South West Festival, Austin, Texas. Here, they were enthusiastically watched by public and media alike, receiving a Top Bands To See At SXSW ranking in the Austin Statesman, and glowing reviews by prominent music journalists such as John Swenson (Rolling Stones), and John T Davis (Austin Chronicle).
During this period, the band met Billy Crockett, (owner of Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio a prestigious venue on the Folk Alliance International House Concert circuit), who invited them to record their third studio album Back To The Garden in the USA. Their single from this album titled One, an anthemic call to environmental support and action, fronted the release as a free download on their website.
Following this, the band launched their music on the UK music scene with their first UK/IRE tour. Here, they enjoyed the warmth and receptivity of UK audiences with a 60 date concert tour, including headlining performances at the classic Rochester Sweeps Festival and Greenwich Tall Ships Festival in front of thousands. Journeying to Ireland in April 17, The Heart Collectors also performed a concert tour across the country, including an appearance at renowned venue Levis Corner House.
Continuing the momentum, The Heart Collectors returned to Australia continued with performances at Tyalgum Music Festival, and Redfest in September. The band finished the year recording their fourth album EP Out of the Ashes with Jordan Power (the beginnings of their 4th studio album), which has been warmly received by audiences across the globe the title track being added to the Official Spotify Playlist Fresh Folk and receiving 20k plays in the first 3 months.
The Heart Collectors kicked off 2018 on a high, returning to Tasmania for a January concert tour, with special headlining appearances at the famed Tamar Valley Folk Festival, and Showcasing at Cygnet Folk Festival. Leaving for international audiences in March, again invited to showcase at SXSW. Here they were sought out by the Director of Folk Alliance International, Angus Finnan, who invited the band to Folk Alliance International Conference in Montreal, Canada.
On to England and Ireland in May 18 headlining Rochester Sweeps Festival, along with performing for Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Concert (raising funds for Leukaemia research), Sofar Sounds London, and on to a sold-out concert tour of Ireland. In addition to their festival and concert appearances, the band performed on 15 high profile radio shows in both UK and Ireland, receiving invitations to tour other European countries.
The Heart Collectors returned to the Australian festival circuit in August 2018 headlining OHeart Festival, Folk By the Sea, Tyalgum Music Festival, Redfest, Gold Coast Folk Festival, and the famed Nimbin Blue Moon Cabaret.
Starting in 2019, The Hearts were On the Road Again to Tasmania in January and to the USA in March 2019 with invitations to showcase at SXSW. In returning to Australia, the next 6 months proved tumultuous for the band. They were directly affected by the Australian bushfire crisis several times. With close friends, family and community losing businesses and homes, they collectively decided to postpone their September US Tour for a period of fundraising concerts, rebuilding local shops and supporting their community. During this time they physically participated in the rebuilding, along with performances. In November, despite the challenges, the band completed the recording of their 4th album, due for release March 2020.
With soaring cello, intricate guitar, sparkling mandolin, boot banging banjo, and passionate strikes of a tambourine, these four charismatic, happy performers create real musical synergy, with a marriage of progressive folk feels, rock sensibilities and clean classical precision. Get ready to have your heart collected!
