The Shape of Minds to Come
The combination of these five artists at the same venue on the same night is definitely not to be missed.
John Duncan:  constantly guiding the cutting edge of audio events from his years in Tokyo and Europe, his recent Japan tour, live events and recordings with Zbigniew Karkowski, Eiko Ishibashi and Jim O'Rourke.
Carl Michael von Hausswolff:  groundbreaking solo music for decades, acoustic experiments from EVP "ghost" recordings to sounds heard in the territorial waters of the Fiji Islands, collaborations with stars from Joachim Roedelius to Jonsi from Sigur Ros to his own daughter Anna von Hausswolff.
Scot Jenerik:  performing on instruments that he has designed and built, providing audiences with spectacular shows where, to his repeating rhythmic cue, his instruments launch columns of fire.
Schneider TM:  years of dazzling European audiences with his solo work, landmark performances with ex Pan Sonic member Ilpo Väisänen in the duo Die Angel.
Chandra Shukla:  tireless researcher defying the limits imposed by genres, his music ranging from performing with live electronics to studying gamelan in a pilgrimage to Bali, to learn from a true master.
Seeing any one of these artists perform solo is a night to remember.
Seeing them performing together on the same stage...?  Simple, no argument: a must.

JOHN DUNCAN has operated for decades at the cutting edge of performance, video, experimental music, installation, pirate radio and television. He has played a pivotal role in the development of performance art in Los Angeles, of experimental music as a member of LAFMS, of Japanese noise and pirate radio in Tokyo. Duncan's work in experimental music continues to have a lasting influence as his art overall continues to be honed, refined, sharpened.

Recent events include MANTRA, a multi-channel surround-sound concert for voice performed for sellout audiences at Immerson 7 (Montreal) as well as the Flussi Festival (Avellino) and Swedish Energies V (Brooklyn), RED SKY at Cabaret Voltaire (Zurich) and MAXII (Rome), TERRA AMARA with Coro Arcanto for Angelica (Bologna).

His music and performance work has been presented at Nicodim Gallery (Bucharest and Los Angeles), Fylkingen, Gallery Niklas Belenius, ZKM, MAK (Vienna), MOT (Tokyo), MACBA (Barcelona), Super Deluxe (Tokyo), CCA Kitakyushu, MOCA, KPFK, The Getty Center, and The Box (Los Angeles), L'Arsenic and LUFF (Lausanne), Raum, Netmage and Angelica (Bologna), Ars Electronica and the 2nd Gothenburg Biennial.

BITTER EARTH (2016), THERE MUST BE A WAY ACROSS THIS RIVER (2010 with Michael Esposito), The NAZCA TRANSMISSIONS (2009), NINE SUGGESTIONS(2005 with Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen), PHANTOM BROADCAST (2004), THE KEENING TOWERS (2003), FRESH (2002 with Zeitkratzer), PALACE of MIND (2001 with Giuliana Stefani), TAP INTERNAL (2000), THE CRACKLING (1996 with Max Springer) and RIOT (1984) are all considered by critics and composers alike to be benchmarks in the field of experimental sound and contemporary music.

His audio work has been released by Allquestions, iDEAL, Vinyl-On-Demand, Fragment Factory, Tourette, Sub Rosa, Touch and Ash International. Recent LP releases include BITTER EARTH (2016), EMS Sessions Vol. 1 (2016), YEAH (2014 with Jim O'Rourke, Oren Ambarchi and Joe Talia), The BLACK ALBUM (2014 with Masami Akita), THERE MUST BE A WAY ACROSS THIS RIVER/the abject (2011 with Michael Esposito and Z'EV), The NAZCA TRANSMISSIONS (2009), two 5-LP box sets of early recordings (2006 and 2012)

SCHNEIDER TM is a multidimensional music project of Dirk Dresselhaus, named after his nickname Schneider. Since the late 80's, Dirk has been active in different musical fields. From 1989 until 1997 he played and sang in adventurous rock and pop bands like Hip Young Things and Locust Fudge (both on Glitterhouse Records) before he became more active in electronic music around 1996. Schneider TM is responsible for a couple of experimental electro-freak-pop albums (on City Slang / Mute) including underground-hits like 'Reality Check', 'Frogtoise' and a cover version of a song by The Smiths called 'The Light 3000', a collaboration with Kptmichigan that was hugely acclaimed by the alternative media like John Peel, The Wire etc..
Schneider TM has been credited as one of the main inventors of a music genre called Indietronic or Indietronica.

Since 1997 Schneider TM performed a couple of hundreds live concerts around the globe including renowned international festivals like CTM (Berlin), Sonar Festival / Sonar Sound (Barcelona, Rome, Tokyo), Mutek (Montreal, Mexico City), Arty Farty (Lyon), Pukkelpop (Hasselt), Hultsfred Festival (Hultsfred), Kilbi Festival (Bad Bonn), Frieze Art Fair / Frieze Music (London), Phonem Festival (Istanbul), Numero Festival (Lisboa), Les Siestes électroniques festival (Toulouse), Melt Festival (Gräfenhainichen), Midi Festival (Hyéres), Motomix Festival (Sao Paolo), Todaysart Festival (Den Haag), Dark Mofo (Hobart) and others.

As well as work on a variety of one-off projects - including the production of music for movies (66/67, In Der Überzahl, Teilhard, Remainder, Continuity etc. w/ directors like Omer Fast or Ludwig & Glaser etc.), performance theater (The Scorpionfish, Louis & Bebe w/ Joanna Dudley & Rufus Didwiszus) or radio plays (Release, Hochhaus w/ Paul Plamper) - Dirk has been performing & recording with noise & drone outfits like Angel (w/ Ilpo Väisänen of Pan sonic & guests like Hildur Gudnadottir, Oren Ambarchi, BJ Nilsen or Lucio Capece), released by Editions Mego etc. and Real Time (w/ Reinhold Friedl of zeitkratzer, 3 CD box on Blume) on a regular basis since 1999.

For a while now, Dirk has also been moving Schneider TM in the direction of instantly composed freeform music, employing varying instruments including guitar, electronics, balafon, effect loops as well as field recordings. Sometimes he works solo and at other times together with artists like Jochen Arbeit (of Einstürzende Neubauten, Automat), Günter Schickert (Ziguri), Damo Suzuki (ex-Can), video artists like Lillevan, pani K and Takehito Koganezawa or Japanese dancer Tomoko Nakasato.

The first results of this open & soundscape-y direction are the Schneider TM albums 'Guitar Sounds' (2014) and 'Construction Sounds': Based on field recordings of Berlin construction sites combined with electronics, it was released in September 2012 on Bureau B & MirrorWorldMusic, an online-platform / label started in 2007 by Dirk Dresselhaus and Michael Beckett (aka Kptmichigan) to present past, present & future of their works.

Since 2010 Dirk runs a small studio called ZONE in Berlin, where most of his recent projects were realized as well as works with acts and bands like Faust, Mutter, Yo La Tengo, To Rococo Rot, Golden Diskó Ship, Chris Imler, Ziguri and others.

SCOTT JENERIK is a multidisciplinary artist/instrumentalist, composer and sound engineer.  He has performed, lectured and distributed works extensively in the United States, Europe and Japan for over 30 years.  He is co-owner of Mobilization Records, has an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, founded 23five Incorporated (the first non-profit arts organization in the US dedicated specifically to the development and increased awareness of sound works in the public arena) and co-hosted the No Other Radio Network on KPFA.

Mr. Jenerik's explosive performances, incorporating hand built instruments of metal and fire, are infamous both around his home of San Francisco/Portland and throughout the world. Combining elements of Kodo drumming, drone and noise, Jenerik transfers the intensity of physical performance into a throbbing soundscape of rhythms, drones and direct elemental contact.

Mr. Jeneriks recent recorded work has been the abstract, non-representational dark ambient project AUME (with Chrome drummer Aleph Omega).  All releases have a hand sculpted physical container which is integral to the work.  An example of this is his solo release of an album made from cement that is playable on a turntable and is housed in a handcrafted hardwood box.  In addition, his experimental short films have been shown in film festivals internationally.
