qFLIX was excited to discover and showcase three films by the talented independent gay writer, director, and actor Laurent Maria. While his work does not feature much queer content, his talent and sensitivity in front of and behind the camera is evident in all of his films. His short, Anita, depicts a woman who faces a crossroads in her life. In his short Sunday, Maria plays a man who has the same conversation with 7 different lovers (one of them male). And his latest feature, Nina, Maria plays a crafty filmmaker whose efforts to coax a performance out of an actress leads to some questionable behavior. qFLIX welcomes Maria to participate in a post-screening Q&A and talk about his work.
