Boston Food Systems Tour
Join us for a bus tour of Boston, our APHA Annual Conference host city, where community groups, businesses, academics and advocates are working towards creating a more just, healthy food system.
Not only will you be inspired by what you see, but the tour is a great opportunity to network and get to know diverse colleagues interested in food systems and public health, as well as a chance for those new to APHA to come into the conference with some connections already made!

Bus leaves from the Convention Center to explore the following organizations:
**Community Servings: A food and nutrition program delivering healthy meals and more to homebound clients (http://www.servings.org/index.cfm).**
**The Food Project; Dudley Greenhouse: A youth farming program working towards social justice through sustainable agriculture (http://thefoodproject.org/dudley-greenhouse).**
**City Fresh Foods and Steward Health Care: A partnership designed to reduce hospital readmissions through access to healthy, sustainably produced meals.**
**Red's Best: A small business focused on connecting small, sustainable fisherman to consumers (http://www.redsbest.com/shopreds/).**
In addition, throughout the day, we'll be visited by special guests representing Boston Collaborative for Food and Fitness, the Boston Public Health Commission and the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance (NAMA).
The Food and Environment Working Group is a cross-disciplinary group made up of members of the American Public Health Association who are working towards improving public health through promoting safe, healthy, equitable, and sustainable food systems.
