Ari, Mia and Lucy Wise

This will be their third tour together in over five years of friendship, and they will be performing an array of original folk songs in intimate venues.

Lucy Wise is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist and singer who has been described as a natural storyteller, infusing songs with a sense of place so strong you can almost feel the dusty earth crunch beneath your feet as she sings (The Brag). Accompanying herself on guitar and ukulele, she creates a contemporary sound that draws deep from the wells of folk, old time American, and Celtic music. The evocative imagery and universal themes in Lucys songs have won the hearts of listeners from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds and have seen her tour three albums and two EPs in Australia, NZ, the US and the UK since 2010. Award-winning songwriters, chamber-folk duo Ari & Mia tour globally, critically acclaimed as New England's Americana sister act. Raised on folk songs and conservatory trained, their voices, cello, fiddle, and banjo intricately combine in original melodies and arrangements that reference the early American songbook and Northeastern fiddle tunes. Strikingly beautiful, distinctive and exhilarating, with expressive vocals that will find a way into hearts and minds (No Depression), the duo creates a realm where their own compositions cross paths with older traditions. The sisters have toured all across the U.S, Canada, and Australia and are graduates of New England Conservatory's cutting edge Contemporary Improvisation department. Their brand new album, Sew the City, released in March, 2019, was premiered on Billboard Magazine. Despite living on opposite sides of the world, Lucy, Ari, and Mia think of themselves as musical soulmates. They each grew up in families of three sisters who, together with their parents, sang and played music, sharing the same love for quirky melodies, intricate arrangements, and three-part harmonies. We grew up listening to a lot of the same folk songs, and each of us are drawn to telling stories through our music. Playing and singing with Ari & Mia feels like home, says Lucy. Theres no one wed rather play with than Lucy Wise. We understand each other musically and emotionally. She adds a whole layer of depth to our songs, says Ari.
