Initiate: An Imbolc Experience

The Ruins and Dragonfly Nexus are pleased to announce Initiate: An Imbolc Experience at The Ruins on Saturday, February 1st 2020.

This brand new event is based on the traditional Celtic mid-point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox and features music by Luxora Major, DJ Snowleopard and DJ OCTABÄN. Tickets are $27 in advance (at Brown Paper Tickets) or $33 at the door. Doors open at 7:30pm and the event goes until 1am.

Gathering in the name of music, art and community....join us for a unique event unlike anything the Gorge has seen....be a part of the magic and mystery! Ultra hip trio, Free Creatures will start the night off, moving into the trans-formative sounds of DJ Snowleopard, morphing into the next level dancing vibe of OCTABÄN, wrapping up the night with the intriguing beats of Drumspyder.
Interwoven with tidbits of mythology from our past, brought forth and we leave the winter behind, looking forward to the spring...honoring Imbolc. We invite you to entertain all your senses, taking in Live Painters creating art, Sister Quail Tea & Elixir Lounge for nourishment, The Photo Booth for a night to remember and visiting the epic vendors that have so humbly brought forth their wears to behold.
Imbolc is a holiday celebrated February 1st. Based on a Celtic tradition, Imbolc was meant to mark the halfway point between winter solstice and the spring equinox in Neolithic Ireland and Scotland.
It is the promise of renewal, of hidden potential, of earth awakening and life-force stirring. It is time to let go of the past and to look to the future, clearing out the old, making both outer and inner space for new beginnings. We will be clearing the mind and heart to allow inspiration to enter for the new cycle.
