About John: John LeFan is a writer and a song and dance man. John has worked with movement, text and song beginning as a chorus boy in musicals with Mitzi Gaynor, Mickey Rooney and Juliet Prowse. He evolved in physical theatre and dance, developing the form Contact Improvisation with Mangrove Dance Company and Anna Dal Pino. Founding President of Theatre Artaud. Co director Mariposa Studio. John's most recent publication, "Apparitions", is an art book featuring his songs and poems.
About Ricki: Ricki Shore became entranced with dance and all things kinetic from a young age. Studying as a teenager at Martha Graham Studios in NYC, she dreamed of being a modern dancer, a dream which has led to her being described as a verb. Often in motion, Ricki also studied theater and music (violin) as a child, playing in orchestras and performing in plays. Ricki was one of the lead vocalists in a long-running rock & roll band in the Bay Area called Soft Touch, and played briefly in a country-western band. For the last 4 years, Ricki has studied bluegrass fiddle. Ricki loves indulging her creativity with an array of the arts, including calligraphy. She is thrilled to be part of the Search Engine creative team.
About Bob: Bob Taxin has been performing internationally for more than 40 years. He has been a musician, an escape artist, a magician, a fire eater and a character actor, and was a featured artist and instructor for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He has presented for a wide range of corporate clients, including IBM, Sun Microsystems, Ford Motor Company, and the San Francisco 49ers.
About Jayne: Jayne Williams writes things. Some of the things pay the rent; some are set to music. She began to study the mandolin in 2013, after realizing that the world did not need another mediocre guitar player, and has now learned just enough to be dangerous. As one of the rare Russian majors who found a job in her field, she traveled extensively in Russia during the late Soviet period, interpreting for whitewater rafting expeditions in Siberia and managing to avoid drowning herself or others. Since those times, there have been many years of soul-parching office jobs and consulting gigs (see writing things, above). Her songs dig into the angst, fun, and ambiguity of being a middle-aged human in a complicated world. Jayne lives in San Francisco.
