The all-star Boston Soul Collective returns to Lizard Lounge with a tribute to the great Donny Hathaway. Look for powerful grooves and spectacular vocals as the band covers one of the greatest live soul albums ever recorded, Donny Hathaway Live! With Sonya Rae Taylor and Alex MacDougall and an all star band featuring Jesse Williams on bass, Ryan Taylor on guitar, Tom West on keys, Pete McLean on drums, and Yahuba Garcia-Torres on percussion.
In the decade between his 1970 breakout hit The Ghetto and his death at age 33, Donny Hathaway recorded some of the most beautiful, heartfelt, and funky music of the late twentieth century.
