Nic Carter is a detective with an earworm. A cheap tune is chasing him through the city streets, and he's chasing the man who has the grip on his girl, Vera. Based on the cover of a dime-store crime novel, The Final Chapter of Nic Carter recalls the film noirs of the 1940's and 50's, with a few surreal surprises. Part of our recent focus on local playwrights, The Final Chapter of Nic Carter is a companion piece to Hedrick's current production at The Artistic Home in Chicago, Vanya on the Plains.
