Jil Chambless & Dan Vogt: Two for the Road-Traditional American and Celtic Folk Music (with Special Guests - The Wee Heavies)
Jil Chamblessvocals, flute, whistle. Originally from Montgomery AL but now residing in Tuscaloosa, Jil has been a prominent figure on the Alabama Celtic music scene since the late 1980s and performs regularly with various Celtic music groups around the country
and abroad, including Henris Notions, the Ed Miller Trio, Vulcan Eejits!, Scooter Muse, Don Penzien, and others. She has completed six recording projects with Henris Notions, three with guitarist Scooter Muse, and others with Ed Miller and John Taylor. In 2009 she released her first solo recording, The Ladies Go Dancing.
Dan Vogt guitar, bouzouki, vocals. Not a native of Alabama, but living in Tuscaloosa since the early 1980s, Dan is relatively new to the playing of Celtic music. He is a long-time rocker, playing electric guitar in various Tuscaloosa-based rock bands, including The Peace Frogs (with Jil Chambless), Opus Dopus, and The DTs. He currently plays in the rock bands The Hedtones and The Bonaires. Although hes been listening to Celtic music and attending many Celtic music events for over 30 years, it wasnt until 2010 that he took up playing Celtic-style acoustic guitar in DADGAD tuning. Now hes even taken up the bouzouki and tenor banjo!
The duos first CD, Two for the Road Late One Night, was released in 2019.
