Behind the Curtain

Behind the Curtain" is an original theatrical dance performance based on the history of Ballroom and Latin dance and how social dancing transforms lives. The show will highlight different types of dance and tell the stories of dancers and prove to our audience that learning to dance does not only make you a better dancer, but it also makes you happier, it brings couples together, it helps widows get over the loss of a loved one and it helps women find their inner beauty. The goal is to create an interactive showcase where the audience participates and views from start to finish the physical and psychological ups and downs of learning to perform, despite those imaginary walls that we put in front of ourselves. Behind the Curtain accentuates the building of community, whether it is between students or between the instructor and the student. The show is written, directed, choreographed and staring Italian Latin dance champion and actor Filippo Gurrieri along with his students from Filip Ross Art Dance Studio.
