Your instructor for this course, Chris Strodder. is the author of The Disneyland Encyclopedia. This book was named one of the years Top Ten Reference Books by the national Library Journal. This long, detailed work examines the history of virtually every building, ride, store, restaurant, and event that has ever been in Disneyland.

Chris will explore and celebrate with you the rich history of Disneyland, Walt Disneys original Magic Kingdom in Anaheim, California. Everything from Walts early park plans to the famous Opening Day in 1955 and on through decades of expansions, updates, and changes will be covered. You will see many images and historical artifacts that will help make Disneylands long, fascinating history come alive for you.

Chris Stodder has been visiting and photographing the park regularly since 1966. Hes also the author of acclaimed nonfiction books on the 1960's and several works of young-adult fiction.
