General Admission and Ultimate Experience Tickets Now Available for John Howie Steaks
Annual Showcase of the Worlds Best Whisk(e)y, Scotch, Bourbon and More

General Manager and Whiskey Guy, Tim Lodahl, will again host Rare & Well Done, the Ultimate Whiskey Experience. In its fifth year, this exclusive event will feature 100 of the finest and most highly prized whiskies collected from around the world and served with perfectly paired fine bites prepared by John Howie Steak and Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar. Rare & Well Done Ultimate Experience guests will receive a Norlan Whisky keepsake tasting glass (valued at $50), a transparent double-walled vessel formed with a unique glass blowing technique that creates a dramatically different inside shape to outside shape with an intensity of color added to spirits in the bowl.

Rare & Well Done  General Admission Experience
Tickets to Rare & Well Done are limited and available now for $150, plus tax, at John Howie Steak and through Brown Paper Tickets. Every guest will be treated to a variety of culinary tastes including: American Wagyu meatballs with foie gras demi glace, Asiago-blue cheese stuffed red potatoes, fire-grilled sirloin cap steak slices with maître d sauce, Porcini mushroom soup with black truffle crème, truffle infused mac-n-cheese, smoked beef brisket with honey BBQ sauce, duck confit in puff pastry with cherry marmalade, baked oysters with bacon and smoked gouda sauce, bourbon butterscotch crème brulée, chocolate coated almond biscotti and warm bread pudding with bourbon sauce.

These fine bites will be paired with a selection of extraordinary, hard-to-find whiskies, including Yamazaki 12 Year, Hakushu 12 Year, John Howie Steak Blantons, Blood Oath Pact 4, Bombergers Declaration and Cream of Kentucky 11.5 Year, John Howie Steak Willett (Wheated Mashbill), Michters Cask Strength Rye, George T. Stagg 2018, Cream of Kentucky 11.5 Year, Macallan Edition No.4, Westland Cask 313, and Wildwood Spirits Co. The Dark Door.

Rare & Well Done  The Ultimate Experience
Rare & Well Done will offer an Ultimate Experience pre-party from 5:00-6:00 p.m. for connoisseurs wishing to taste 13 of the most expensive and hard-to-find whiskies in the world. A limited number of Ultimate Experience tickets are available for $600, plus tax, and include access to exclusive food and spirits available only during this private event. The Ultimate Experience concludes at 6:00 p.m. and ticket holders will have first entry to the main event that immediately follows.

Only Ultimate Experience guests will dine on lobster roll sliders, roasted American Wagyu Chateaubriand with maître dsauce, grilled prosciutto wrapped scallops with honey vinaigrette, foie gras with vanilla French toast and caramelized apple, fried brie with bourbon infused maple syrup and ancho-chili smoked shrimp with BBQ hollandaise sauce. The Ultimate Experience also includes one-fourth ounce pours of the following rare whiskies, each hand selected by General Manager and whiskey curator Tim Lodahl of John Howie Steak:

Yamazaki Sherry Cask (2016 release): This Sherried Japanese whisky was named whisky of the year by Jim Murray and is highly prized as only 5,000 sought-after bottles were produced ($4,700/bottle).

Eagle Rare 17 Year (2010 release): Part of Buffalo Traces Antique Collection, this release has an almost wine-like character with hints of almond, cigar boxes and cinnamon ($1,900/bottle).

Four Roses 130th Anniversary  (2018 Release): This limited edition small batch Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey has warm aromas of rich vanilla, mingled with raspberries, crème brulée and ripe berries ($480/bottle).

Michters  (1980 release): Michters is Americas first whiskey company, founded in 1753 as Shenks Whiskey. Distillery owner Lou Former renamed the facility in the 1950s by combining the names of his two sons, Michael and Peter ($1,400/bottle).

Wild Turkey 15 Year Tribute: This limited-edition 15 Year bourbon was created to commemorate master distiller Jimmy Russells 50th anniversary at the distillery ($1,400/bottle).

Van Winkle Family Reserve 17 Year (1991 release): It is believed this incredibly rare offering was sourced from Boone distillery, where it was barreled in 1974 then bottled in 1991 by Julian Van Winkle III. These original bottles of Boone distilled Van Winkle reserves are incredibly rare and sought after ($3,800/bottle).

Rittenhouse 21 Year Rye (2006 release): The original lot of 95 barrels was intended for a private-label customer of Heaven Hill, but when the rye neared the unusual age of 21 years, Heaven Hill offered to buy it back and released this very rare straight rye whisky ($3,100/bottle).

Johnnie Walker Blue Ghost Rare: This release brings together Port Ellen with grain whiskies from closed Carsebridge and Caledonian distilleries, as well as rare malts from Mortlach, Dailuaine, Cragganmore, Blair Athol and Oban ($400/bottle).

Balvenie 25 Year Doublewood: This release was initially matured in traditional whisky casks, then given a three-month finishing period in Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks ($800/bottle).

Glenfiddich 30 Year: This bottle is produced in limited quantities and part of The Glenfiddich Rare & Vintage Collection by malt master Brian Kinsman, who personally selects and marries together slowly gaining whiskies in Spanish oloroso and American bourbon oak casks ($700/bottle).

Glenrothes 1992: This second edition of the Glenrothes 1992 Vintage Single Malt is aged 10 years longer than the original release bottled in 2004. These are the very same casks chosen for the first release, but left aside to mature longer in both refill sherry and ex-bourbon barrels, making it the first vintage to be matured entirely in refill casks ($350/bottle).

Macallan M: This release was composed of whisky from seven casks selected by Macallans master whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno, after more than two years searching through the distillerys vast cellars of more than 295,000 barrels. The oldest whisky in it was distilled in 1940 and all were matured in first-fill oloroso-sherry casks. The M is unlike anything Macallan has offered ($5,300/bottle).

Port Askaig 45 Year: Distilled in 1968, this release is an exceptionally complex and very rare example of Islay whisky at this age ($1,600/bottle).
