Tacoma NWF Habitat Stewards Training
SUPPORT WILDLIFE! SIGN UP TO BECOME A HABITAT STEWARD!

The National Wildlife Federation, in partnership with the Tahoma Audubon Society, is offering a 4-day training program to teach you how to help members of your community create and restore wildlife habitat in your backyards, schoolyards, and other private and public areas. This training is engaging, fun, and participants become Certified Habitat Stewards!

Benefits include: an NWF volunteer t-shirt, hands-on training, engaging field trips, a comprehensive training manual with local resources, instruction from local professionals, and continued support from NWF staff.

A variety of topics will be covered, including rain gardens, gardening for wildlife, noxious weeds, PNW ecology, habitat restoration, and more!

Classes will be held from 6 pm - 9 pm on October 30, November 5, November 13 and November 19 at the Adriana Hess Audubon Center. Field trip sessions will be held on three Saturday mornings and will be located at the Adriana Hess Audubon Center (November 2nd 9 am-12 pm; November 16 8 am-12 pm) and Ft. Steilacoom Park (November 23 9 am - 12 pm).

*Scholarships are available! No one will be turned down to lack of funds. Email WAEducation@nwf.org for more information.

**A 30-hour volunteer commitment within a year after the training is required. We will provide coffee, tea, and light snacks at each training session and you are welcome to bring a brown bag dinner. Local food businesses occasionally provide donations and we will inform participants ahead of time in this case.
