Working Dress Rehearsal - MBT's 31st Annual Production of The Nutcracker
This ticketing page will allow you to purchase a special discounted ticket to MBT's final Working Dress Rehearsal for The Nutcracker on Friday, Dec. 6th.
*What is a working dress rehearsal?
This performance is the same performance that audiences will see throughout MBT's 2 weeks of Nutcracker performances this season. The big difference is that you might get a sneak peek behind the scenes if our artistic team needs to make any final adjustments to the staging, lighting, or sound.
The Artistic Director and technical team sit above you, in the back of the theater, throughout the performance. If they need to make an adjustment that requires the attention of the dancers on stage, you might hear them announce it from their booth over the speakers. You also may notice adjustments on stage made to the light or music.
Please do not react to any adjustment or announcement you might see or hear, it is all a part of the process of producing a ballet!
We offer this opportunity so you might be able to get a little peek behind the curtain, and so that we may remain more accessible to patrons. Let us know if you catch any subtle adjustments that were made by the artistic staff between this dress rehearsal and the full performance run!
Metropolitan Ballet Theatre has been presenting the full-length traditional staging of The Nutcracker since 1989. Year after year audiences are enchanted by MBT's performances which feature student and professional dancers, fabulous costumes, and beautiful scenery including a Christmas tree that seemingly grows forever, magical dancing dolls, marching toy soldiers, giant mice, a dazzling blizzard with dancing snowflakes and a land of luscious sweets.
Metropolitan Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker is a fun family tradition that will lift your spirits this holiday season!

(MBT's shorter-length The Nutcracker Suite will be performed Dec 7-8 & 14-15 each day at 10am. Tickets are sold separately.)
Attention Girl Scouts! Earn your Nutcracker Patch by attending one of our special "Chats" for Girl Scouts and other students after the 1pm performance on Dec 8th and the 5pm performance on Dec 14th. Stay in your seats after the performance for our "Patch Chat"! MBT Commemorative Nutcracker patches (3.5" round patches) are available for $3 at the gift table in the lobby or in advance by calling 301-762-1757.

-All tickets are general admission.
-The lobby opens one hour prior to performance time.
-The theater doors open 30 minutes prior to performance time.
-No food or drink is permitted into the theater, but refreshments are permitted in the lobby.
-Every person (including infants) must have a ticket, per fire marshal regulations.
-Refreshments and small gifts are available for purchase in the lobby.
-Flowers for your favorite cast member are available for purchase in the lobby.
-There is plenty of room in the lobby if your child needs a little break from the performance.
-Seating for patrons with disabilities is available, please speak with an usher.
-Our production of The Nutcracker lasts approximately two hours with a 15-minute intermission.
