PROGRAM:
"City of San Diego 5-Year Capital Improvement Program and Contracting Opportunities"
This presentation will focus on the following topics:
-- How is the City currently working with consultants and how best can we maximize the results for the City?
-- The City is reviewing raising insurance. How will that affect SLBE firms that might not have sufficient insurance?
-- Are there upcoming changes to the City Code or Storm Water Requirements that will affect the consulting industry?
-- Discussion on how scope changes to the contract after the RFP has been released will be addressed in contract negotiations. Changes in scope of services after the contract is awarded may potentially affect the SLBE/ELBE goals for the project.

James Nagelvoort, PE

BIO: As Director of Public Works, James leads over 850 employees in the delivery of the Capital Improvements Program. During his distinguished 27 year career, James has held many engineering positions including being the City Engineer for 8 years. He's earning a reputation for seeing the 'big picture' and 'go-to' person for challenging political projects and programs.
James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from California State University, San Marcos. He is a California registered professional engineer (Civil).
