Putting the Crack in Whips, a 101 Class
Single tails, or whip throwing can be both one of the most intimidating, and sexy skills you can learn as a way to play with your partner. Whether you love the light flick and brush of a cracker against your skin, or you savor the wicked shiver when you hear a whipcrack right next to you, this style of play can often be one of the hottest, and scariest you can encounter.
Come join our teacher Thornblood for a whip enthusiast class that is all about care and techniques. From the warm up to the sensual We will be talking about what to look for when you go to purchase your new whips, how to care for them and the various throwing styles.
We will explore various techniques and styles in this whip class such as:
* The differences between West Coast and East Coast styles throwing.
* Single and double whip simple techniques.
* Flourentine style throwing, both four point and six point style, and tips for holds to make that easier.
* The care and feeding of your whips, from what to look at when purchasing, how to break them in, and long term care of your single-tails.
This class is for all skill levels, from those who have never thrown a whip before, as well as more experienced whip tops who are looking for potential tips and tricks for different ways they can find new ways of applying their skills.
From our Presenter Thornblood:
I have been a pervert all my life and an active member of the community since 2003. I dabbled with bullwhips in my youth and started to learn how to use them on people around 2005. I learned the West Coast Swing to begin with and later a four point Florentine. A couple of years later at Folsom I learned a reverse six point florentine from a very nice young lady. I have been playing with whips ever since. While I dabble in many other areas, whips were my first love.
I am fascinated with people and how they throw whips. There are many great whip artists in the area and I want to help people discover the joy in throwing whips.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF PBS TO ATTEND THIS CLASS
This workshop is going to encourage active participation, but we want to make sure we have an educational and comfortable experience for everyone involved. We follow these principals of teaching consent:
No One is required to participate in anything that makes them uncomfortable. If at any time you feel pressure to participate, you should feel free to speak to a representative of the space during or after the class or workshop.
You are not expected to contribute to the discussion in any way if you do not wish to.
The instructor will inform the workshop attendees of anyone working as a teaching assistant bottom, as well as any of their pre-negotiated rules regarding how the bottom will participate to make sure that attendees are given full awareness of consent.
If there is something unclear in the workshop, you are not required to request clarification at the time, if you wish private clarification, the instructor will give contact information so you may get that clarification if needed.
