Breaking the Rules the Right Way: Exploring Mean Rope
Don't run your rope too quickly over your bottom, always leave a two-finger gap under your rope, keep your knots small or decorative to make your rope "bottom friendly."
If you've been to a rope 101 class, you probably have heard these basic guidelines over and over again. Sometimes though you're not looking for soft rope, sensual rope, intimate rope where you carefully take your bottom through a rope 'journey'. Rope can be mean, rope can be fast, intense and rope can take you to intense places that can be as strenuous as any impact play or other form of 'mean' play.
This class is for those that want to mix the mean, the sadistic, and even some rough body play into their rope work to make a different kind of connection with their bottoms. We will look at all the rules that make rope 'nice' and 'safe' and work on techniques that break those rules in a safe and controlled manner.
We will also look at some of the additional risks involved when you work with these rope techniques and simple methods you can take some traditional ties and make them especially mean.
This class will cover:
* Negotation and safety discussions for playing with mean rope.
* Heightening the sensation and intensity of some traditional ties to enhance their 'mean' traits.
* Different types of rope to mix things up so you can take things in different directions without worrying about your regular rope.
* Punishment rope and intense positional bondage that will push your bottom.
* Using hardpoints to enhance the 'mean' traits of ties through predicament and leverage.
This class will have interactive demonstrations and practice periods, as well as a post-class practice period for those looking for additional critique or suggestions for their rope techniques with the help of the instructor or other participants.
This class is ideally for someone with a partner to practice these rope techniques, so if you are solo be prepared to do a little self-contortion or make some friends fast!
We request that you bring at least two 30ft sections of the rope of your choice, but there will also be lender rope at the event, or opportunities to purchase additional rope.
Geoffrey Quick has been an active participant in the Kink Community, and has been practicing rope for over 10 years. In that time he has refined his approach into one where the end result of the scene is the most important part of the use of his rope. Rope is a fine tool, but it is a tool none-the-less to create fun and interesting play.
