The Posies - Legendary Power Pop

Following up on the success of their 30th Anniversary Tour in 2018, The Posies founding members Jon Auer & Ken Stringfellow are working on an album of new material, their first since 2016s acclaimed Solid States. To this end, the band has booked a series of summer shows in and around the studio sessions (taking place at Stringfellows own recording facility in Seattle) to give the new songs the chance to benefit from both the reaction of an audience and the intensified dynamic of the stage to help fine tune the studio versions that will ultimately result.

The band was formed by Auer & Stringfellow in 1988, and since then have released eight albums, including Frosting on the Beater from 1993 which contained their breakthrough single Dream All Day, and is namechecked as an all-time favorite by a diverse list of musicians from Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) to Ed OBrien (Radiohead) to James Alex (Beach Slang) to Queen Latifah. The band continues to tour globally and record and release music to a devoted fanbase, who revere the band for their peerless melodic gifts, thoughtful and intricate lyrics, and penchant for vocal harmony. They play as a full band, or, as in the case for this unique show, as a duo, showcasing the songs in their most pure form.
