Even though advance sales have now ended, there are still some tickets available for tonight's concert ($15, cash only) with Mark Paffrath. So please come to the door. Doors will open at 7:30. The concert starts at 8pm. We encourage you to get to Union Square early this evening, so you have time to navigate some construction in the Square, park, and find the Studio if you have never been there! Parking is on the street at meters (enforced until 8pm, with 15 minutes per quarter) or in the parking lot behind the Citizens Bank across the several pronged intersection from the Studio. It is fine to park in the lot (despite signs saying otherwise) as long as the bank is closed for the day. The Studio's address is 33 Union Square, which is confusing because of the numbering system in the Square! It is physically located on the right hand side of the oneway portion of Somerville Ave. coming into the Square from Porter Square--just at the lefthand curve around to Bow Street (but do not put 33 Somerville Ave into a GPS system!). There are lots of wonderful restaurants in the Square, so you might consider coming early enough to have dinner before the concert. Mark Paffrath from Racine, WI has been charming audiences for longer than he can believe! From the concert and festival stage to your local bar and grill or coffeehouse, his thoughtfully chosen interpretations and well crafted original music are as much about his history as where he would like to be; as much about how the world is, as the way hed like to see it. His observations, repartee and humor are self-deprecating but keen, quirky and refreshing. His command of vocal and instrumental skills is well honed from years of performing. A performance by Mark Paffrath may leave listeners a little more aware of the foibles of the human condition, the ironies that life is made of, the difficulties and joys of living in this world, but may also leave them feeling just a little bit better about their part in all of it - and this alone is well worth the price of admission.
