Benjamin Rush: Doctor, Stateman and Humanitarian
Doctor Rush was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He is the Father of American Psychiatry. Doctor Rush was the Surgeon General during the Revolutionary War. He was also the President of the Abolitionist Society and a leader in the temperance movement.
Our tour will also visit the graves of the four other signers of the Declaration of Independence that reside in the soil of our cemetery, including of course Benjamin Franklin.
