Summer Shorts !
SUMMER SHORTS! Producing Artistic Director John Lant presents Write Act Repertory's Summer Playwright Spotlight Series featuring the works of Susan C. Hunter in a Festival of Short Plays.
Write Act Repertory's annual playwrights series returns in our NOHO home spotlighting prominent and award-winning Los Angeles playwright Susan C. Hunter at the Brickhouse Theater.
Write Act Rep provides an opportunity for our artists-in-residence written word, with the support of fellow Write Act Rep members and LA professional acting artists.
"We are so excited and honored that Ms. Hunter has chosen Write Act Rep, and for nearly 15 years has been a base and foundation of everything we do and represent here," states Lant. "Her positive attitude and forward thinking pushing for more female playwright opportunities began by leading two of our women's playwright groups multi-year original one-act festivals. I could not be more proud of the work we do here and the environment of safety we provide for the brave voices, like Susan's, that wish to reach out to the community."
Ms. Hunter's plays include A LITTLE TALK, BREAKING NEWS, COINCIDENCE, THE CASE OF THE AIRTIGHT PRE-NUP, THE ACTRESSS NEW FACE (A Mashup of Snow White and The Emperors New Clothes), LIFE UNRESOLVED, THE MOTHER, and A MIDSUMMER EVES NIGHTMARE.
Our feature creative artists include Franck Amiack, Jordan Carlson, Cruz William Castillo, Jonathan Harrison, Kathryn L. Hunter, Sherrie Lewandowski, Trevor Murphy, Yaron Shani, Georgia Ann Silva, Jamie Sowers, Venessa Verdugo, and Jinny Wilcott.
All shows are Directed by Michael Eiden and Susan C. Hunter, with our Production Team Members Jonathan Harrison and David Thomforde with Graphic Photography by Clark Hunter.
This festival is produced by John Lant, Susan C. Hunter, Michael Eiden and Write Act Repertory.
In the past, Write Act Rep worked with members of Los Angeles Playwrights Group, ALAP, and with At-Rise Playwrights and Women Inventing Theatre with Susan C. Hunter and Michael Eiden.
