A Day of Music and Music Making at The Mount Vernon Hotel
Music was popular with New Yorkers of the 19th century. Now, on this day, designed just for children 9-12 , children learn popular songs of the 19th century, play and make harps according to a 19th century instruction manual, read period sheet music, learn about instrument makers way back when and get moving to everything from folk dances to waltzes in a room designed just for that purpose over 200 years ago.
