Intro to Hand Embroidery with Vivienne French

At Copper Cat Studio, we've had fun bringing you art forms like needle felting and knitting, that have had a resurgence in popularity in the last few years. Another art form that has been around for centuries and has picked up momentum recently is Embroidery.

You've seen those pretty embroidered dish/tea towels at craft shows. Admired gorgeous embroidered tablecloths and napkins in antique and vintage stores. Guest Instructor Vivienne French shows you how to easily break down the steps of designing and incorporating different basic stitches, such as stem stitch, backstitch, French knots, and satin stitch, to create a lovely piece of art. This class will focus on iron-on pattern transfers, but she will discuss ideas of how to create concepts for pattern making. Each student will receive a kit set, choose a transfer, learn some easy stitches and begin embroidering a dish towel.

*Our workshops are appropriate for ages 12 to adult*
