Cobweb Sweepers: Broom-making & witch lore workshop
Weave your own cobweb sweeper to clear away old webs and bring in Spring clarity and movement.
In this broom class you'll acquire the art of weaving and sewing broom corn, and learn about the intertwined lore of the crafts weaving and cleansing. Broom-Maker Brujx Bethany Ridenour and folklore-loving folk herbalist will share craft and story with participants to get them ready to tide out even the furthest, murkiest corners of their hearths. Plants, brooms, seasonal magic, and folk medicine story come together in the simple, ancestral medicine of sweeping. Hop on your broomstick and come along (if you are lacking broomstick to hop on, this might be the perfect workshop for you!)

Bethany (they/them) is a teacher and student of ancestral skills. For as long as they can remember theyve turned to the trees and animals in the forest for council. Bethany believes strongly in the healing powers of nature, believing that strengthening our connection with the natural world can improve our interpersonal relationships and emotional wellbeing. Bethany has found that working the hands with elements of nature brings some of the deepest healing and feels like it is their path to help bridge the gap between humans and nature, bringing to light how that relationship can help heal trauma. Bethany has worked with many different natural elements with a strong emphasis on different ways of processing animal skins (e.g making and using Brain-tan, Bark-tan, rawhide, and furs), earth pigments; and is a professional Broom Maker.

Milla was born and raised in endless Boreal forests of Finland, surrounded by hidden messages of ancient plant medicine traditions, and folk magic. Her work as an herbalist in the Pacific Northwest is deeply rooted in the practice of bio-regionalism, Earth Activism, and local resilience. It is her dream to empower folks to discover their own ancestral magic, and revive their own holistic traditions.
