The High Divers & Matthew Fowler // Summer Breeze Show
Have you ever been to a concert in a barn? Didn't think so. We haven't either. And we've been to some really weird shows.
So join us in what is bound to be one of your most unique musical experiences. We're celebrating summer by throwing a real barn-burner. But without any burning. Well. It's summer in Florida, so there might be a little heat. But nothing we can't handle.
On June 15th, we're welcoming back the very first GNV Listening Room headliner, Matthew Fowler. And this time he'll be bringing some friends with him from Charleston, SC.
For anyone who attended Tom Petty fest back in October, you might remember a very lively band called The High Divers. With anthemic choruses, lush 3 part harmonies, and rhythms rooted just as deeply in Motown as in rock n roll of both past and present, The High Divers create songs that nod to the classics, while still carving out a sonic space all their own. A fixture of the South Carolina music scene, the band is known for its charismatic on-stage swagger and ability to get the crowd unabashedly involved.
Doors will be at 6:30 and music will begin at 7pm. As always, the address & parking details will be provided upon purchase of ticket. For general reference, the show will be in the NorthEast section of town, past the Gainesville airport (~16 mins from Downtown Gainesville). Entry is $12 (+$1.42 processing fee). Merch will also be available, so consider bringing cash to take home memorabilia.
Barnhouse Rules:
*Be respectful of the space & belongings!
*Be respectful of musicians & other guests-- please do not text/snapchat/whatever the kids are doing these days during the performance. We have a photographer for that! Be present with the music and the community.
*BYOS(eat, cushion, blanket, camp chair, snuggie etc) Please bring whatever you need to have a comfortable experience.
*BYOB(everage of choice)
*We will have mosquito repellants available, but feel free to bring some if you're worried about bites!
