Breakfast with Tiffanys - An Expert Curated Tour of First Unitarian's Tiffany Windows and Angel Mosaic
Breakfast WITH Tiffanys, an Expert Curated Tour of First Unitarians Tiffany Windows and Angel Mosaic, will take place on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. Admission for the Continental breakfast and tour is $50, with all proceeds going towards First Unitarian Congregational Society of Brooklyn. Space is limited to 30 people. The tour will be led by Lindsy R. Parrott, the Executive Director and Curator of The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass.
During her 15 year tenure at The Neustadt, Ms. Parrott has co-curated Louis C. Tiffany and the Art of Devotion at the Museum of Biblical Art and Louis C. Tiffany: Nature by Design at the Shelburne Museum of Art. Most recently, Ms. Parrott served as co-curator of the special exhibition Tiffanys Glass Mosaics, organized jointly by The Corning Museum of Glass and The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass, and co-edited and contributed to the accompanying award-winning publication.
Starting in the Donald W. McKinney chapel (adjoining the Sanctuary), Ms. Parrott will give a short presentation on Louis Comfort Tiffany and then take the tour up to the sanctuary, where she will discuss the design and creation of a selection of First Unitarians Tiffany windows, as well as its Angel of Light Tiffany mosaic.
(Please note that while we are striving to make our worship space more accessible, this tour will include climbing stairs.)
