Harmonic Infinity Loops - Neel Murgai and Seema Pandya
This performance of Brooklyn, NY based artists pairs the sitar, polyphonic overtone singing, electronic live looping, and Persian frame drumming of Neel Murgai with the video projections of animated bio-morphic inspired artwork of Seema Lisa Pandya. Beginning with an evening raga on sitar, Neel moves on to lush, droning vocal soundscapes and primal rhythms while subtly shifting chords, ragas and textures are deconstructed and reassembled in improvisational flights of fancy. A former Denver resident and co-owner of Revoluciones Collective Art Space, Seemas projections use stills of her paintings and sculptures, slowly animated into new abstract forms that complete the psychedelic experience as listeners are washed in an ocean of overtones.

As an artist, she explores the intersections of sustainability, art, cultural, and the built-environment.  Her work tends to focus on two predominant themes, universal principles of biology and physics, and environmental sustainability. Sacred geometry, gravity, the push-pull balance of things in relation to one another, biological fractals, and the boundaries between negative and positive space are all inform her art. This has inspired her to create of a variety of work over the years ranging from public art sculptures, interactive kinetic sculptures, slatted light sculptures, site-specific installations, public guerilla street art, amoeba shaped fractal paintings, and her current series of large sculptures made from discarded played tabla (classical Indian percussion instrument) drum heads. Additionally, Seema has devoted almost two decades of leadership work forming community and cultural organizations such as Denvers Revoluciones Collective Art Space, and the Brooklyn Raga Massive.
