Functional Art- Textured Tile with Resin and Ink Dyes

There are so many ways to play with Alcohol Inks and Resin. We are excited to host guest artist Kelly Burr as she shares her unique way of incorporating Ink Dyes and Resin to help you create a piece of functional art.

Kelly will give a brief talk on the basics of resin pouring and alcohol inks, before students choose their pre-taped and ready to work on tile piece. All materials needed to create a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art that has YOUR distinct style, will be provided including pigments, glow in the dark powders, glitter, mica shards, colored glass, resin. Also included are rubber bumpers and a small easel for displaying your masterpiece. Pieces will be ready to pick up the following Tuesday after class.

Your textured/broken tile can be used lots of ways...as a coaster for your favorite beverage, spoon sitter on your stove or countertop, as a unique soap holder, on your nightstand to hold your glass or beverage or as a totally unique piece of artwork for your desk at the office or on a side table at home. If you have extra resin, there will be extra pieces available to pour at no extra charge!

Wear clothes you aren't afraid to mess up, resin does not come out of clothing. Short or 3/4 sleeves are best. It also likes to stick on hair, so if yours is long and flowing, please tie it back. If you have a sensitivity to chemicals, have respiratory issues, or are allergic to resin, you should not take this class. Although masks and gloves will be provided and we use the least toxic resin on the market, if you are sensitive, or have breathing difficulties, its best not to take chances. We will be using also be using alcohol inks and a butane torch.

Class is appropriate for ages 12-adult.

A full refund is available for cancellations up to 7 days before class, half refund 2-7 days before class. No refund within 48 hours of class. If there is a waiting list or you can find someone to fill your spot, we will offer a full refund.
