Tons of Money

Tons of Money is the story of an unsuccessful inventor, Aubrey Allington. When his brother dies and leaves him a fortune, he finds that the bulk of the money will be swallowed up by his debts. On Aubrey's death, the fortune will revert to his cousin, George Maitland. As Cousin George is thought to have died abroad, the inventor and his wife, Louise, have the brilliant idea of "blowing up" Aubrey in his laboratory so that he can resurrect himself as his cousin thereby avoiding his enormous debts and inheriting the fortune! The explosion is duly staged and Aubrey reappears as Cousin George. Complications arise when George's wife shows up. Aubrey is forced to fake another death and take on another identity. Then another George imposter arrives in hopes of claiming the fortune. Just when things can't get any more twisted, the real George Maitland returns from the dead!
