The 7th Annual Red Hook Community Prom
ITS BACK!! Cora Dance's beloved, annual, retro, high-school-prom-themed, kick-ass, 70s-80s-90s dance party: THE RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM, presented by Red Hooks own WOOFS N WHISKERS Urban Dog & Cat Retreat, Saturday, June 1, 7pm-Midnight in the gym of South Brooklyn Community High School, 173 Conover Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Admission is PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN (Suggested Admission: $125. Suggested minimum: $10) and proceeds support tuition assisted students and the YCP/Youth Company Programs of Cora Dances PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN school for dance in Red Hook, Brooklyn. What began as a community-wide spirit lifter after Hurricane Sandy has grown into a hot, sweaty, booty-shakin, throwdown community dance party that kicks off every summer just right!!
Think back. Wasn't your high school prom the most magical night of your teenage life? OR... Maybe your prom was a nightmare... crying in the bathroom, you had a fight with your date and that dress you thought was, like, so totally awesome? Three girls had the same dress (and better shoes.) Whether you want to relive it all or need a total re-do, THE RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM is the place to make it happen! With photo booth by MVS Studios; an incredible silent auction; live performances by Coras professional and YCP/Youth Company Programs; and throwback 70s, 80s, and 90s hits spun by DJ Robert Lux (recently featured at Lollapalooza and Super Bowl XLVIII official in-stadium Pre-Party), theres no inhibition on the dance floor at THIS prom, because HOLY PROM QUEEN YALL...the punch is spiked by Dry Dock! Come help Cora Dance close out our 20th Anniversary Season and kick-off the summer of 2019 at the event thatll rock you like its 1999! Festive prom attire encouraged but not required. Come be pretty-in-pink or just be yourself at THE 2019 RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM!
THIS EVENT SUPPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR KIDS. CHILDREN/FAMILIES WELCOME, BUT PLEASE NOTE, ALCOHOL IS SERVED AT THIS EVENT. WE ID AT THE DOOR! ANYONE UNDER 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
