Mosh Pit Army has been select to host the 1st and last dates of the 2013 tour! The 1st night will take place Friday, August 30, 2013 and the last show of the tour will be November 2, 2013. We are now booking the final local band spots for these 2 events.
All bands competing in this year's competition will each receive a full live DVD recording of their performance from 6 different camera angles. A great addition to any band's press kit!

Mosh Pit Army has hosted the Project Independent competition in the Phoenix area for the past 4 years. In 2009 we had 3 bands make it to the top 10 with 2 of them in a 3 way tie for 1st and losing to Eminent (Fracture Point, Stands With Fists, and Wynterborne). In 2010 and 2011 our Phoenix area bands failed to make it to the final round. In 2012 we finally did it! With both Element A440 and In Peril in the top 3 for the nationwide fan vote, ELEMENT A440 was crowned the winner of Project Independent 2012!!!

ATTN: HARD ROCK & METAL BANDS 2013 Marks the 10th year anniversary of Project Independent and this year promises to be OFF THE CHAIN.
In 2012 we implemented LIVE HD webcasting of all events.. 41 events total with an average viewership of 83,000 per event, creating a promotional platform unparalleled in the independent music industry, and bringing Project Independent one step closer to becoming a 24/7 LIVE STREAMING NETWORK (what MTV was MEANT to be)
The media controls the industry. At Project Independent, we're simply creating a media source that we all can collectively control.

CHANGES TO THE PROGRAM: DEPro & Streaming Media Hosting will once again provide webcasting facilities upgrading from 4 cameras to 6.
Peavey has been replaced by Schecter and Ampeg. Rapco Cables & Reidel Communications have been added on the technical side.
Subway & Vitamin Water have come aboard to offer healthy alternatives to our artists.
Artist participation will still be handled on a first come, first served basis, however we will be working with REVERBNATION as well as Venue Owners & Local Promoters, to ensure that the proper bands receive this opportunity.
Project Independent is NO LONGER a "pre-sale" program... we are now "pay 2 play". Artists are required to submit a deposit prior to reserving their slot, and will receive the following: 1- 30 minute set (streamed LIVE in HD) 1- Fully Edited DVD of their performance* 1- LIVE Interview w/Jo Schuftan (Horns Up Rocks) 1- Project Independent Artist Critique 50- General Admission Tickets valued at $12 per
* During the 2012 tour we had some unforeseen issues with our DVD burner that prevented several bands from receiving their DVD's. This year we have implemented procedures to prevent this from happening again, however in as much as NOTHING is full proof, any band NOT receiving their DVD at the close of the event due to technical issues, will be issued a $100 refund.
Bands that performed in 2012 and did NOT receive a DVD will be offered a slot on the 2013 Tour with a $50 discount.
MAKING MONEY 101: YOUR band is YOUR business, and we want your business to be a SUCCESS.
The obvious way for bands to generate revenue thru Project Independent is thru ticket sales... however we have now added some new money making opportunities to our program.
Each 15 minute break between band performances will now be filled with Band Interviews, Fan Interaction and AD SPACE.
Project Independent has hired an Ad Agency to sell this airtime... 30 second ad = $25 60 second ad = $40
The agency receives a 20% commission on ALL ad sales, revenue that we would much rather see get pocketed by the bands themselves.
Tattoo Parlors, Head Shops, Skateboard Shops... they ALL need to promote their businesses and what better way than thru the support of a COMMUNITY EVENT.
