Ian Scarfe enjoys a busy career as a piano soloist, collaborative pianist and chamber musician. An enthusiastic performer, he averages over one hundred performances each year, which often take him across the United States, Canada and Europe. He is the founder and director of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, which presents annual retreats and concert tours for dozens of musicians from around the world. Based in "North State" California's scenic Trinity County, the home of the Trinity Alps Wilderness, the festival has given over 200 concerts in its seven years, including educational performances at dozens of local schools and summer camps.

Ian is a founding member of the Vinifera Trio, an ensemble based in California's wine country, and the Zurich Mozart Trio, based in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also a founding member of the group Nonsemble 6, renowned for its fully staged performances of Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire. An eloquent and articulate speaker, Ian is a frequent lecturer on music and gives talks on music appreciation and history at universities, adult education programs and retirement communities.

As a soloist, Ian's appearances with orchestras have come to prominently feature the music of Beethoven. Recent performances of Beethoven's music include the Piano Concerto No. 4 with Symphony Parnassus in San Francisco, the Choral Fantasy with the Fairbanks Summer Arts Orchestra in Alaska, and the Triple Concerto with orchestras in California and Florida. He is currently on staff as a music associate at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Master's Degree in 2008 and an Artist's Certificate in 2010. He earned a Bachelor's of Music Degree in 2005 from Willamette University. His principal teachers are Paul Hersh from the SF Conservatory of Music and Dr. Anita King from Willamette University.

Philip Brezina started playing violin at age five, following the wisdom of the Suzuki program. He went on to do his undergraduate work with David Salness at The University of Maryland. While in Maryland, his quartet was selected to lead the inaugural chamber music outreach program, an idea designed to bring music education to under-privileged youth. Philip now lives in San Francisco, where he received his Masters Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under Ian Swensen. He works as a bluegrass fiddler in The Brothers Comatose, a studio recording artist with the Magik Magik orchestra, as well as a soloist and principal second in The San Jose Chamber Orchestra.
