To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill A Mockingbird

Atticus Finch is a lawyer in a poor town in the deep South during the years of The Great Depression. Widowed, he is raising his two young children, a boy and a girl, alone with only the help of his housekeeper, Calpurnia. When he is assigned as public defender to a young black man unjustly accused of rape he must make a moral judgement.  His decision will deeply affect the future for both his own family and the entire town.

Harper Lees To Kill A Mockingbird ranks among the greatest works of American literature. This monumental tribute to justice and morality has stood the long test of time and is as relevant today as it was when first published. It is fitting that this magnificent stage adaptation of one of Americas greatest novels makes its Riverhead debut on the historic stage of The Vail-Leavitt Music Hall.

TICKETS REMAIN  AVAILABLE AT THE BOX OFFICE UNTIL CURTAIN TIME

THE VAIL-LEAVITT MUSIC HALL, located in downtown Riverhead, New York is Riverheads best known historic landmark. It is on the National and State Register of Historic Places. The Vail-Leavitt is the oldest theater in downstate New York  20 years older than the oldest theater on Broadway! The Vail-Leavitt Music Hall was the site of one of the very first showings of moving pictures when, in 1906, Thomas Edison  used the theater to demonstrate his newest invention, the kinetoscope, the forerunner of the motion picture camera. This venerable Riverhead gem has been an uninterrupted source of entertainment,  an  important  meeting  place,  and  a wealth  of  local history since 1881.
